Digital transformation has become a key strategy for improving management and governance in higher education institutions. This study analyzes the implementation of digital academic management systems at the Universidad Estatal Amazónica (UEA) as part of an institutional strategy to modernize administrative processes and strengthen decision-making mechanisms. The research focuses on platforms, which were designed to digitalize procedures traditionally managed through manual or fragmented processes. Using a qualitative case study approach, the research examines the impact of these systems on administrative efficiency, transparency, and process traceability. The findings indicate that the implementation of integrated digital platforms significantly reduced processing times, minimized human errors, and improved access to institutional information for students, administrators, and authorities. Additionally, the systems enhanced transparency by ensuring clear records of procedures and facilitating monitoring and auditing processes. These results align with previous studies that highlight the role of information systems in strengthening institutional governance and operational efficiency in universities (Bates, 2019; Selwyn, 2021). The study concludes that digital transformation in administrative and academic management contributes to more efficient, transparent, and data-driven higher education institutions, particularly in emerging regional universities.
