This study describes the design, implementation, and evaluation of the course “Experiences in Active Learning Spaces,” which was developed by the Center for Technological and Educational Innovation (CITE) at the Mariano Gálvez University of Guatemala and implemented with 150 higher education faculty members at the Huehuetenango Campus. The purpose was to understand how the Gemini Gem “Consultant for Learning Experiences in Active Spaces” contributes to the design of teaching strategies within the framework of the Active Learning Spaces Ecosystem. This Gem enabled professors to develop teaching strategies and contextualized activities that integrate active methodologies, classroom typologies, and technological resources that facilitate the transition from traditional models toward meaningful learning experiences. The course was delivered in an asynchronous virtual format through the Canvas platform, following an active and experiential methodological approach. Autonomous learning and direct application in real teaching contexts were strongly promoted. The study adopted a qualitative approach with a structured non-experimental design. The results demonstrate a high level of methodological appropriation, as well as an improved alignment between teaching strategies, use of space, and technological mediation. It is concluded that the integration of artificial intelligence, within a relevant pedagogical design, enhances teaching innovation and supports more active, contextualized, and meaningful teaching-learning processes in higher education. This initiative is projected to be implemented across all Mariano Gálvez University of Guatemala campuses.
