The increasing psychological challenges faced by adolescents highlight the urgency of integrating mental education within school-based physical education programs. Developing personal resilience is essential for helping students manage academic pressure, emotional stress, and social challenges. Sports activities offer experiential learning environments that can foster resilience through teamwork, discipline, emotional regulation, and problem-solving. This study employed an experimental design using a pre-test–post-test approach. A total of 154 students participated in the study, consisting of 71 junior high school students and 83 senior high school students selected through purposive sampling. The intervention involved a sports-based mental education program integrated into physical education activities. Students’ personal resilience was measured using a standardized resilience questionnaire administered before and after the intervention. The collected data were analyzed using the Paired Samples t-test to identify differences between pre-test and post-test scores, while the N-Gain analysis was used to examine the effectiveness level of the intervention. The results revealed a significant improvement in students’ personal resilience following the intervention (p < .001). Junior high school students showed a greater increase in resilience (M = −46.070, t = −96.677) compared to senior high school students (M = −16.205, t = −20.972). These findings indicate that the integration of mental education through sports activities effectively strengthens students’ resilience, particularly during early adolescence. In conclusion, sports-based mental education can serve as an effective pedagogical strategy for enhancing adolescents’ personal resilience and should be systematically integrated into physical education curricula across educational levels.
