Becoming a professional football player is the aspiration of many boys in Indonesia and Malaysia, where football is the most popular sport. Achieving this goal requires not only physical, technical, and tactical skills but also psychological readiness. Within the psychological realm, incorporating a spiritual dimension is vital to guide players in their development as footballers. This study utilized qualitative methods with a grounded theory approach. The participants included 25 licensed football coaches, each with a minimum of five years of experience coaching U17 players in Indonesia and Malaysia. To ensure data validity, the researcher employed three data collection methods: interviews, observations, and document analysis. The data were then analyzed using a grounded theory framework, assisted by qualitative research software, NVivo 14. The study identified three significant themes regarding the spiritual dimension of U17 football players' development in Indonesia and Malaysia. First, ritual worship such as prayer, fasting, and other forms of worship helps players connect more deeply with God. Second, social worship emphasizes positive relationships among players, fostering behaviors such as helping others and engaging in charitable acts. Finally, pre-match rituals include activities that players believe enhance their performance.
