In an era increasingly dominated by digital tools, this study investigates how reintroducing tactile methods affects creativity, engagement, and learning outcomes among undergraduate graphic design students at Zayed University in Abu Dhabi. Drawing from classroom observations, student reflections, and project outcomes across multiple studio courses, this research explores the pedagogical potential of non-digital practices such as silk screen printing and letterpress as catalysts for deeper creative exploration. Preliminary findings suggest that engaging with physical materials fosters heightened curiosity, stronger conceptual thinking, and a renewed sense of ownership in the design process. Moreover, the analog approach appears to counteract creative fatigue often associated with screen-based work, rebalancing students’ relationship with technology and craft. By situating these insights within the broader discourse on design education’s evolving methodologies, the paper argues for a hybrid pedagogy that values the sensory, reflective, and material dimensions of making as integral to the development of future designers.
